The Work

Clover Learning produces educational content for healthcare professionals — from nurses and medication aides to radiography students and clinical staff. From February 2024 to April 2025, I produced animated learning modules covering a remarkable breadth of subject matter: the physics of MRI imaging, medication administration ethics, STEM concepts for clinical training, and more.

The challenge on every project was the same — take something genuinely complex and make it genuinely clear. Not dumbed down, but unlocked. Motion was the tool; understanding was the goal.

Produced 2D animated educational modules across healthcare and STEM topics
On approximately 50% of projects: received scripts from SMEs and scriptwriters, then storyboarded, designed the graphics, and animated entirely
Collaborated with subject matter experts to ensure scientific and clinical accuracy
Created 3D Cinema 4D assets for the MRI physics unit — modelling and animating complex scientific concepts
Translated abstract concepts into clear visual metaphors and narratives

Designer & Animator

50%
Script to Screen
On half of all Clover projects, I owned the full creative pipeline — from a raw script from a subject matter expert through to storyboards, graphic design, and final animation. No handoff, no intermediary. Just the brief and the finished piece.
50%
Motion from Design
On the remaining projects, I worked from established graphic assets — bringing someone else's visual system to life through animation, ensuring motion felt native to the design rather than added on top of it.

The Range

The breadth of subject matter at Clover required genuine intellectual curiosity alongside craft — understanding MRI physics well enough to animate it accurately, and understanding medication ethics well enough to frame it compellingly. Every module demanded a different visual language.

When 2D Wasn't Enough

C4D
Cinema 4D for the MRI Physics Unit

Particle physics inside an MRI scanner cannot be adequately communicated in flat 2D — the spatial relationships between magnetic fields, proton spin states, and RF pulse behaviour require dimensional movement to be understood. For the MRI unit, I modelled and animated 3D assets in Cinema 4D, integrating them with the 2D After Effects pipeline to create a hybrid that felt cohesive and purposeful. The tool choice was always in service of clarity.
